FIELDWORK is a collective artwork initiated, edited and produced by nine graduates of Art/Space/Nature, the interdisciplinary Master of Fine Art course at Edinburgh College of Art. ACTINIC 2015 Festival is a new series of exhibitions and events featuring Scottish and international artists at the intersection of analogue photographic media and other arts.
Actinic: "of light relating to, resulting from, or exhibiting chemical reactions" - in other words, light as a tool in the creation of art. The festival is interested in the myriad ways in which this can be interpreted - the intersection between analogue photography, printmaking, sculpture and performance. World class venues include Edinburgh Printmakers, The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Summerhall, Stills Centre for Photography, Traverse Theatre and the English Speaking Union. The publication, produced by Edinburgh Printmakers with a specially commissioned cover printed with photochromatic ink, has 70 pages, text by Brittonie Fletcher (Director) and full colour photographs of the artwork in the festival. It is available to purchase from Edinburgh Printmakers. Edinburgh Printmakers 23 Union Street, Edinburgh EH1 3LR www.edinburghprintmakers.co.uk |
